Synopsis:
Orchids are the supreme seducers of the plant world - some are sluts, others are more exclusive, some prefer to fester in faeces and most are deceptive. Some are just plain flexible, able to contort 360 degrees in order to self fertilize. All are sexually explicit with their organs boldly displayed, ready to tantalize and drive humans, birds and insects wild. Through the eyes of orchid expert and obsessive Dr Kingsley Dixon, The Sex Life of Orchids will explore the relationships that orchids share with humans, animals and insects exposing the fetishes, sex and seduction techniques of this ancient family of plants.
